Consequences of using wrong coolant fluid

So if any guy has a doubt about what happens when you use the wrong coolant, this is your thread. Basically it makes plastics brittle and they start to break. Also this can be caused due to aging.

No major issues. The car was sitting when this happened.

Looks like you had a leaking oil filter housing which caused that rubber to swell so that hose was doomed for failure already...

I used exclusively OEM coolant and got the same issue. That's just the plastic aging.

If you use the wrong kind, you can get corrosion in the block, though. The BMW brand is cheap enough to not look somewhere else in any case.
