Aight im gonna keep this brief. I need a new set of front tires for the summer to replace my winter set of continental dws06. So far I'm looking at the Federal 595s, Nitto, and Hankook Evo 12s. I'm from Texas so our summers are usually dry and very hot with the occasional downpour here and there. Planning on running 245/40/18 with good cornering and grip.

I think that Tire Rack will give you more reviews than this forum. When it came time for new tires I went with Michelin PS4S and have been happy with my choice.

I second this recommendation. Good sticky tire for people on a budget.

I am. While I have no doubt the Michelin’s are the best on the market, I can’t justify paying $400 for some tires I’ll wear out in about 6 months. All the other options are under $300. Thanks for your response!

A friendly suggestion is to rethink what tyres equate to in performance and therefore enjoyment. Come on dude, you already justify plenty of spend to go fast , 6months? Pffft ... what about the tank fills and everything else. E85 ,meth and so on. We arent aiming for a fuel efficiency prize.

If you are upgrading turbos this is a must do mindset shift. You wont regret it..the cheapo federals/firestones wont help you once you hit that point. You will be forever wishing the extra power you made could one day be put onto the pavement. Those tyres cant do it.

If you want to push the limits of you car. In a straight line or around corners , tyres are a hard performance limit on all the money and effort you will spend on the car in other mods. Its a hard limit on how the car feels and responds to driver input.

I am happy buying tyres every whenever if I get to drive the car at 100% throttle and actually put all the power down, I am happy to pay for the fun I have. Thats why I have it. Maybe you cant afford to do that? Answer - get a second set of wheels , put the grippy expensive r compounds/drag radials on them. Change them over to fully enjoy the car , win races and cut great times on the track.
