2007 TPMS Confusion

I have a 2007 e92 335i, and I need TPMS sensors for a new set of wheels (I think). Some sites say the sensors work for build dates 03/07 to 08/09. This car was built in 10/06. However, the stock style 189 wheels have metal valve stems, which leads me to believe that it does utilize sensors, and not the abs system method. Does anyone know for sure?

Both methods can be used TPMS systems seem to have issues. I have a 9/06 model that I plan to activate the FTM vs TPMS.

Is that something that can just be coded? The TPMS system is pretty useless since it doesn't even show each tires pressure.

The FTM system doesn't show pressure either. It can be coded, many older threads here about it.

I just meant that for the cost of the system (sensors and associated electronics), that you would think it could do more and show the individual pressures.

Agree, the later models were more capable, funny as cars that were far cheaper had them and they could display it.
