new comfort access key
lost #2 key, replaced it..now BMW wants $135 besides the key price to program it. Robbery!
I know it has to be registered with the ECU for the comfort access to work- anyone in San Diego do this or tell me how? |

after an entire day of trying to get the key to pair with my car, they told me they would need to keep the car over night.
"either the car isn't talking to the key, or the key isn't talking to the car." It's the right part number, battery is charged, and the key is able to start the car and lock/unlock doors...it's just the comfort access part that doesn't work. Hm..... |

Total time in shop will be a minimum of 5 days- all to program a key.
They sent a key programmed from the factory, and the entire comfort access system shut down. Now neither key (original key that used to work nor new key, or new key from factory). Getting kinda tired of driving the 328 sedan. |

DAY 8-
Car received "software update" even though it had received one a few months ago- I wasn't aware there was a new one....didn't do anything CAS computer module (comfort access system i assume) has been replaced and firmware uploaded- still waiting on results. Seems like an aweful lot of time to just program a key remote. |

day 9-
Received car back with 2 new keys. Everything had to be reprogrammed due to faulty CAS. But everything was free since it's under warranty- so I just put about 800 miles on their loaner- works for me. |

Kind of a bummer overall, but at least you were able to put a positive spin on it!
