I wipe down my seats/doorpanels/console/dash with this stuff, works great, smells great.

Every now and again I use Lexol for the smell (I'm not convinced Lexol does much for coated Leather).

I don't think anything does much good for coated leather. I still use leather care products because the damn buttons on my jeans (TR) scrape the damn leather and have on the left hand piping of the driver's seat, scuffed the coating away.

I've since learned how to get in and out without scuffing the leather, but the damage is done now. It's minor, to be sure, but coating gone is coating gone.

Food? No way Jose.

Drinks? Water only.

Air freshener? Roll down those windows and let the breeze in! I'm already used to the crappy LA air quality.

I don't like my current car's smell of 'nothing', I spent over 4 years in my old car smelling rotten A/C & unburnt petrol, that I'm starting to like those smell.

Clean the leather once every month, condition it two or three times a year, vacuum the carpets a few times a year, keep dust etc to a minimum, no eating in the car. That just about does it.

I hate artificial scent of any kind in a car. It cheapens the experience, like riding in a cab. I prefer the factory smell of leather, so I just keep my car clean. I'm constantly taking trash out. Nothing gets left behind. If I have to pick up something stinky, like a pizza or Chinese food, it goes in the trunk, and the trunk stays open in my garage for at least a hour after I get home.

Like what most said, I clean the leather, vacuum often, and take out the trash. I have shampooed the carpet yet. That'll be done this fall.

No smoking, and no eating, After every wash I wipe down the interior with a damp cloth, then a leather conditioner. If neccesary, I will vacuum the rugs. 5 years, and my car has that new BMW scent.

wow these are some amazing replies. it seems like most of us really like to keep food at a minimum, even keeping artificial smells at a minimum! very interesting...

so how do you prevent scuffing the seats? when i get out i always seem to slightly swipe my door with the leg (being 6'2" doesn't help)

and also the bucket style seats do make it a bit hard to get out without squishing the side seat portions, mainly the left raised area next to the thighs.

I prefer my car to smell like cigarette. If I know i'm about to drive a female then I would kill the smell with OZIUM

jk...in all seriousness, I'm also looking to buy some air freshener to smell good and attract better quality females. In any event, the poll link from OP doesn't work :\

Lol, better quality females should be from you bro but you could make them happy with fresh scents like the air spencer squash.

Just check out massdrop.com and go to vote and then on the lefthand click on gearheads and then vote. Or just go to amazon and then search for air spencer marine squash.

The little xmas tree that hangs on the rear-view mirror

A clean interior should not need a 'masking' sent

Definitely no food in the car..if necessary food goes in the trunk (have a liner)...keep the windows tight.
