DIY on replacing the fuel tank vent valve and throttle body gasket on a 2009 bmw 328i xdrive. This could be the same for some other models. so please do your research. This is my first write up. if i missed anything please dont hesitate to correct me.

You can get the parts from www.ecstuning.com. The parts were cheaper there

Fuel tank vent valve part number 13907618643 $86.00


Throttle body gasket part number 13547522361 $10.00


1. removing the air filter housing 10mm socket to remove it and flat head to remove the sensor and clamp and you can also change your air filter while doing this








2. Now remove the power steering with a 10mm socket to get more clearance to get to the other clamp





3.once removed it will look like this


4. loose the clamp to remove the part from the throttle and wire next to it to get more clearance



5.your throttle body should look like this now


6.Now try to disconnect the plastic black hose connected to the fuel tank vent valve and disconnect the wire plug also





7. Now loosen the 4 bolts that hold in the throttle body






8. after removing the throttle body you can now replace the throttle body gasket also.



9. after removing the throttle body you now have excess to the fuel tank vent valve hose. hold both side of the clip and use a flat head to push it out.


10. New and old fuel tank vent valve


11. reinstall everything the same way you took it off.

For the throttle body, did you replace the bolts or are they reusable? I'm about to do the 3IM conversion so I'd figure I'd change my throttle body gasket as well. Thanks in advance for this detailed guide!
