Who cares who does it? The bottom line is each time they do (3 times now) its perfect. I get it done at the same time b/c its convinient. Don't have time to take it to subbie. The Subbie dealership is next door, so they probably share their alignments or have something worked out. ALignments aren't rocket science...the problem is there are too many people willy nilly just shoving the computer LED based system onto the rims and adjusting blindly without ensure they have mounted it properly.

Aftermarket shops (x2) were a bad experience.

This post confuses me? The OP recommends a shop then says go to dealership only and aftermarket is no good? I'm just looking for clarification. I want to take my wifes car in for an alignment.

K, I got my alignment done @ Limitless Auto and here is a quick review.

- promo right now for $60 + tx (great price)
- it is a bit far (near pickering) for those of us in the west
- the place itself looks like a regular mech shop ... nothing to rave about
- however they use 3D imaging wheel alignment equipment so that's a plus (i think)
- lots of subaru STI guys were there takin adv of the promo
- the guys who work there were professional and courteous

- However the guy took the car for a ride before workin on it. I know he's checking to see how it drives (pulling which way etc) but none of the other alignment shops I've been to ever did that prior to workin on the car. Even the Subaru guys were a lil concerned cuz some trips were like 5 min and others 15 min. Most of them changed their maps to valet maps which option I obviously didn't have on my car. Nway, I'm not sure if this the norm at other alignment shops so I'm not goin to dwell on it. Just assumed they could see whatever is up with the ride once they hooked it up.

- Concern: even though my car was lowered on coilovers w/camber plates they were able to correct most things to OEM specs except for the passenger front. They said either I hit a pothole really bad and wheel might be slightly bent or I need to check the height of the coilvers on both sides and make it even (not sure if this is true cuz the driver's front would be slightly higher most times or when you do corner balancing it won't be even.. anyone know what kind of variation is allowed ... hope it's not the wheels).
- nway they gave me a print of before and after.

Guess overall I''ll give it a 7/10. Still have some reservations about them taking the car for a 10 min drive before working on it. Atleast if they requested the customer join them then it would be less of an issue.

BTW, some of the Subaru guys rave about Level Auto in Scarboro so I might check it out once I get coilovers to even height etc. Has anyone else been there.

Taking the car for a ride before an alignment is normal, ime. I'd say 9/10 times I've had an alignment done they've gone for a 5-10 min ride. Different shops too. Not sure if they all do it or what others experience is, but that's mine. I went the first couple of times because I was paranoid but now I just say take it.

I was there today, have nothing but good things to say. Car rides awesome and cannot wait to hit track. What a huge difference. Now I can use up my coilovers properly.

It took about an hour and half but that's because he had to adjust camber on all 4 corners and toe in rear. It's awesome to see someone who takes pride in his work.

Thank you for letting us know about this place! Will definitely recommend next time some one asks.

^ In where?

I'm confused. I got coils and even though it handles great after 2-3 weeks I'll be heading in for an alignment.

So far we have:

1) Al Tech $60 but a question if they have 100% right equipment - feedback is good though. Etobicoke - Kipling/ Dundas
2) Limitless $60 June promo. Equipment looks good. Promo: free checks throughout the year. East Scarborough (U of T)
3) Level Auto $79.99 (includes $10 coupon). Shop looks swanky. St. Clair/ Danforth Rd.
4) Dealer ~$120 (unconfirmed) - any issue doing aftermarket wheels, lowered, etc?

First 3 appear good to me after reading reviews.

I welcome more feedback to aid the decision.

Where did you get Dealer $120 from. I went to Budds and they quoted $240 Plus tax. Would they price match these others?

Toronto BMW has it on sell for $149.95, but if you don't have your OEM rims it will cost you another 133.00 plus after all of that they still didn't get my steering wheel straight.

Current promo at BMW Waterloo $149 and $249 for active Steering, which according to them take extensive work to do the balance. I wonder if Al Tech and other shops will make the same considerations for Active steering.

So guys: what's the consensus on where to go for alignment? I'd want to avoid the dealership if possible.
