HEXON RR700 - Short Review

Well, it has been awhile and I'm sure everyone is wondering how the HEXON RR700's are holding up. So far so good... Lots of tuning changes and I'm sure the Virtual Dyno is off a bit, but gives you a good idea of what's going on...

I haven't had time to dyno the car again, but time is so limited lately. Added some car porn as well... Enjoy...

Nice! I was trying to find your review on the Hexon R600, you did in the past. I'm stuck between either the R600 or the MMP stage 3s but I'm not sure how much power an AT can handle before things break. I know there's always a risk and you have to pay to play. I'm falling between both vendors based off their price tags. My end goal is around ~600whp. What do you think? I will be going PI and I already have both inlets and outlets that haven't been installed. I'm just trying to figure out the best route. Thanks

Very strong Ken. The car is looking pretty good too. It's aged gracefully in spite of the unbelievable thrashing it's gotten over the years.

I have a pump map, but never pushed it on pump because I don't see much point considering PI is a bit overkill for pump. I'm sure 400 to 450 whp would be acceptable numbers, but I have seen guys with ST making 500 on pump. I think that's a bit risky. Water/Meth would be recommended.

That is RIDICULOUS performance on a very stock looking 335i.

WELL DONE.

I didn't get an actual dyno while on pump as to me it would be a waist of time. But I did get a good Virtual Dyno and from what I have seen it hasn't been too far off.

Is that just 93 or 93+meth?

Those virtual dynos don't look half bad honestly. You must have a good stretch of road for them.

I'm used to seeing virtual dynos that look like they were made on a ski slope lol. Fwiw torque is generally the most questionable virtual dyno bit hp seems more accurate in my limited experience.

That's 92 Oct with 10% ethanol. I haven't ran meth on my car for years.

Roads in Oregon Mexico are actually really good in comparison to some states in Mexico. The section of road I do my pulls on is flat for @ 1 mile with not more than a few feet of elevation change. It's also smooth so no camber changes. The pull from today was a bit off because it was a 3rd gear pull. I find that a 4th gear pulls work better especially when you have a good smooth road.

You're spot on about the torque. Seems like 3rd gear adds about 100 wtq. I highly doubt that I'm much over 550 peak torque.

+1 on pump gas dyno numbers... (They are a waste when e85 is available)

Your car looks very strong!

Looks great. Wedge, other than flashing the Alpina TCU flash, how else does your 6AT differ from a stock one?

100% stock and well abused.

If I keep the car, which I'm contemplating selling it so I can get a DCT Z4, I have a L10 converter I'll install with a fresh transmission.

Pity you didn't stay in the pull a little longer so you could check the 60 - 130 mph number.

Great looking power curve with crazy torque !!

I'll try to get a good 60-130. Gear ratio should allow for 130 prior to shifting to 5th gear. I just need to stay in the throttle until 6750 rpm.

If not, I should have 100-200 kph times.

Post up the virtual dyno parameters. You would think one of the most recognizable tuners in the community would have access to a real dyno

You would think that with all of my free time that would be possible.. LMAO I'm actually lucky I even have time to go drive my car.

3rd gear, Tire 25.58, Car 3560, me 295, final Drive 3.46... Not much to mess up there. Other than the fact the virtual dyno reads about 100 wtq too high.
