Exhaust tips?

Hello everybody, I have 2011 e90, and I’m looking for a nice burble/pops with my exhaust. I currently have a muffler delete but it’s not doing the trick. I know in most likely need to get tune but are there other things that you recommend to get a certain sound. Appreciate any info at all. New to all of this.

Cat delete. Downpipe and secondaries. Will be loud, raspy and likely you'll smell a fuel odor when stopped.

If you're going for pops, keep the resonator and get rid of the secondary cats. It should give you what you're looking for. This actually reminded me to post those sound clips of my new exhaust setup, I've been lazy to post them lol

I have 3" DP's and the flap always open on my IS exhaust. Pops and burbles with no tune (as in--no burble tune) but only in certain situations. The 3" pipes made a HUGE difference, makes it sound deeper and catless increases the pops/burbles.

In general wider pipes cause a deeper sound. Freer flowing exhausts induce more burbles. Cats cut down on pops/burbles (and subsequently, a burble tune is not good for the cats)

I need to redo them, but I'll upload one. Check my recent threads, should be there

Ooo we need sound clips. I could see that sounding pretty good!

3" piping isn't the best for N52s, they need some backpressure. But N54s like yours should do just fine (not sure which one he has so I figured I'd throw that in there)

I took some! Cold start and then a downshift/roll on/snap off clip. This is with N54 Tuning 3" DP's (better design than VRSF imo) otherwise bone stock with the valve unplugged. uploaded to vimeo and tried to make em show up below. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but if you quote this post you should see the links

What makes the N54 DPs a better design than VRSF?

They have a smoother taper at the connection to the midpipe

I've attached two pics, the one with annotations is mine and one is a VRSF pipe I pulled from online.

Other factors included the fact that VRSF was sold out for months and their customer service was unhelpful; while Mike at N54 Tuning shipped me these from Canada, to California with no complaints, on the day I ordered.
