E90 LCI CD Changer not working

Hello,

A friend has an E90 LCI and his CD changer has trouble loading the CDs... whenever a CD is pushed in the CD changer it sounds like it's not "pulled inside" correctly and this error is displayed on the screen (attached):
*Disc in changer is unreadable or not supported*

Any thoughts?

The trouble with mechanical CD changers is they are mechanical.
What kind of system do you have ccc or cic.
If you are only interested in playing music I would do it
through a USB stick if you have USB.
You have tried other disk I suppose?
Was it exposed to liquids or dirt/dust?

apparently its a pretty common problem.

The system is CCC, there's no USB because obviously USB is a lot more convenient.
Unfortunately the issue is intermittent... tried all sorts of disks, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. So most likely the issue is mechanical?

Just replace it . Most car disk plyers that are used eventually fail.
If you want a cheap way to add usb A2DP this
