Has anyone with a 2011 E9X had their LPFP go out?

Though, I'll admit I'm not 100% familiar with all the ins and outs of INPA. How are you able to get INPA to read rail pressure without going through the "fuel rail test" that re-primes the pump? Or are you just talking about the value that the rail sensor reads? If so, would using MHD to see the active rail pressure work the same?

Honestly, I have the opposite problem as everyone else...When my car's cold it'll start right up. But if I've been driving and the engine is all the way warmed up, and say I stop at a convenience store or something for ~5 minutes, when I come back to start the car it'll long crank for anywhere from 3-5 seconds. It seems to be more pronounced/frequent if I've been driving "spiritedly". It only happens when the engine is fully warmed up, and only if I turn it off for a short period of time then come back to start it back up...In the 2.5 years I've had the car, it's never failed to start, but the odd long cranks have been an occasional thing since I've owned it. Always assumed it was my HPFP on it's way out, and one day it would kick the bucket and I'd replace it, problem solved. Well, my pump died ~10k miles ago, but the long cranks persist

Just get a reman HPFP off FCP Euro. Cheap for what it is and you get a lifetime warranty if it ever goes out again.

Have you had it on your car to say your 2 cents? https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1390721 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1390721 I'm not one to put ebay parts on my car. Everything I have on my car is through ECS tuning or genuine OEM. I asked if anyone has experience using it, if you don't, then don't chime in.

I'm going to get the import direct from O'Riley. Its OEM. It's a few hundred dollars and comes with a 5 year warranty. I have a gift card for their so I guess this is a good time to use it.

That's not a bad choice at all. Sometimes auto parts stores resell OEM parts (good example, E46 Duralast wheel bearing is made by Timken). I'd be curious to see if this one is OEM.

I figured I would post these here first before making a new thread considering this is more than likely fuel related.
Here are 3 different logs of early morning cold starts. Any insight from those more knowledgeable than me would be greatly appreciated. This first one is the outlier as it didn't even start. I had to turn the car off and back on again (which stops the logging on MHD). https://datazap.me/u/geirsenk/long-c...og=1&data=3-13 https://datazap.me/u/geirsenk/long-c...og=2&data=3-13 https://datazap.me/u/geirsenk/long-c...og=0&data=3-13 And for science, here is a log of a typical start that fired relatively quick. https://datazap.me/u/geirsenk/more-c...=2&data=0-3-13 Thanks guys!

https://datazap.me/u/pladi/log-good-...0&data=4-15-16 My fuel pressure is 70 PSI before cranking. https://datazap.me/u/pladi/log-bad-c...0&data=4-16-17 These logs were recorded for my misfire issues but it shows what my readings are. My cranks were instant there. Your shows 18 PSI.. seems quite low. |
