Genius yo!

I of course compensated him for his time. We will do some remote coding as soon as my cable comes in.
Thank you once more for kind words

Yes , now all we do is waiting for cable, then some magic will appear

Working from Poland is not a problem, problem only is the time difference, im +8 hours so when you guys came back from work and get ready for coding im already after shower cause its 2am here at this time, but since i spend half night sitting with my almost month old son ( second have belongs to my wife) this is not big problem ).

I hope we will be able to do everything that Jake wants to do with his car

Its 3:20am here so my shift with baby is over, wish you all a nice afternoon/evening

Thank you, Jake's car is already done. Yesterday we fight with problems with JB4 on his 335i but then everything goes like a charm.

Have you checked to see if your pins 7 and 8 on the cable are bridged or unbridged?

Pins 7 & 8

No clue about checking those. When I bring up INPA on my win7 I get api32.dll missing error. When I bring up Ediabas it comes up but when I go to file and click on e90 i get rightx32.ocx missing error or an .ocx error when I click on new test.

Unless you want to be spammed for the rest of your life by giving your email directly to the public, I suggest you take it off and pm him privately!

Yes

I have inpa working and cleared code. I will try ncs this weekend maybe tmrw after work. Maybe you can help with this. I have beenreading a lot of lost on sirius. I just purchased a module and my car has the prep, so wirung should be ther for me to connect it up but i see i have to have coding done. I have seen where some have said you can code it yourself by adding "sat" to your software. Do you have any idea and do i have to move fiber at most behind rear driver seat?

You will need to connect the fiber cables at the junction box and re-route the active cables in the block. The ones in the pre-wire harness route to the block behind the seat, but they are clipped into a block that goes nowhere. This is necessary because the MOST loop must always be complete and so any device in the chain that gets disconnected (or was never connected in the case of a pre-wire) will cause an "open" in the loop. It's pretty straight forward when you understand this and know that you are just opening the loop and inserting your device when you re-route the cables at the block.

As far as coding, you just need to add the satellite radio option S655A (SDARS) to the VO and set SDARS "active" to your CAPPL (idrive) or RADx (radio--it might be RADIO_SDARS in the RADx module, i don't know since I have iDrive). Some say you need to also remove the "prewire" code (S693A) from the VO, but I don't think this is necessary (I'm not sure since my sat retrofit was on a car without the prewire option).

To add/remove options from the VO, there is a document floating around called NCS_Changing_the_Vehicle_Order_CAS.pdf. see:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=586732

The actual code to add to the VO for S655A is "$655"

The "coding success" sticky will show you how to change the SDARS in CAPPL or RADx.

So on a prewired E90 you have to get into the fiber optic cables still? I guess I thought it was plug and play after coding?
Any DIY guides on doing the fiber optic part of it?

The fiber optic part is pretty easy once you realize that it's just a loop. See this drawing:

If you trace the path along either end of RAD2, you see that it makes a continuous loop through every device via the junction box (1).

This post is for a CDC retrofit, but it's the same concept:

T/u Will try tomorrow

Genepool appreciate the info. You confirmed what i was thinking I had to do.
I will read more on the coding and look to make a backup before i try to change anything.

Jdhart - yes there is info regarding the moving of fiber for this in the DIY. That is what made me ask the questiond I did to confirm that is still the needed procedure to get this correct.

Forum: is there anyone in the northeast ohio region that has done this? I am willing to pay for help to make sure it is all done correctly and I don't have to go to the dealership.
