It's a nein to both!

I think my vote is on a Porsche Panamera Turbo - maybe slightly left field but......
They already know....I actually felt so bad about it as I do have some emotional attachment to my (still) favourite car dealer. I went there in person and told them today and they were fine with it.

The new car has no sqeaks and is unlikely to (hopefully!).

Panamera? Really....have you seen one?

Ok, my vote was going to be a V12 Vantage but it seems not, given your choice of 'practical' (ish) cars, i.e. not stripped out racers i'd go for the new RS4, SL63 or a R8 V10.

Close?
You have very good rationale and yes, you could be close in principle if nothing else!

I'd love an R35 but just couldn't live with one everyday.

Erm...it's costing LESS than the XKR-S, not 10 times the price!! Not that this will help one bit as it's not meant to cost less! (Ooops, theres yet another clue!)

The £10 is still up for grabs....some great guesses, and some very much in line with what I'd buy. You all need to try harder though - come on, it's not THAT hard. A lot of you know exactly what I like

I've had my guess already, but I'm thinking along the lines of American muscle, a second hand Ford GT perhaps?

I did like that a lot but that would be a RRS replacement if anything. The new car is not from the JLR group.
