Bilstein b12 pro kit sits higher than stock m sport

Just installed the bilstein b12 pro kit and for some reason the car is sitting higher than it was on stock suspension. The stock shocks were absolutely trashed though. Could that be why it’s stuffing higher? Also replaced all of the rubber components on the struts and shocks

shocks won't effect ride height

Shock absorbers don't effect ride height, that is determined by the springs

When you installed the B12 kit I'm assuming that included new strut mounts and new shock mounts. That is likely the reason for the difference. The strut mounts specifically, they collapse with age and cause the car to sit lower.

I went through this with my 325. Actually loved the ride height and was surprised that after refreshing the suspension it sat nearly an inch higher.

It seems on your case the B12 isn't likely higher than a fresh factory M-sport suspension, rather it's just higher than a worn out M-sport suspension.

How is ride quality compared to your old m sport suspension? Softer? Stiffer? Stiffer but less NVH?

Curious on your comparisons. Let us know we are interested!

Ride comfort is nearly identical to stock. This is a huge plus for me since I commute about 45min to work. The car feels way more stable at higher speeds, and way more direct steering. I’ve got some apex arc 8 wheels on the way so I’ll make a separate post when those get installed

The strut mounts are built into the b8 strut. The shock mounts come with the b8 shocks

Interesting. All of the bare B8 struts/shocks or the ones included in the kits I've seen do not include strut or shock mounts, and they all have to be purchased separately.

Unless you're referring to the bump stops... I know the bump stops are internal to the B8 tubes, but the ones I've seen do not include mounts.

completely normal behavior, blown rear strut will cause rear to sag down. fresh suspension will often raise it (back to its normal factory height)

Did you have the suspension loaded, at ride height, before tightening all the control arm pivot points? Tightening them while the suspension is in droop will cause your ride height to be elevated, cause the car to ride like crap, and damage the bushings prematurely.
