About to purchase some Dba 4000 front and rear discs and was doing some reading. People mentioned hearing whistling noises and similar sounds when driving along side concrete barriers and warping (not sure if tracked)

Any reasons why you wouldn't buy them again?

I havnt had a single issue with mine mate, no squeal when braking no whistle next to barriers or in tunnels, basically zero noise.

I havnt tracked my ca and dont intend to, and lets be honest, they are not racing brakes, they are OEM replacements, if dickheads run them on a rack then complain they they are warped.... If you want to track your car get a BBK

Also I read someone saying these complaints may be old and they may have updated the rotors since then, but I cant confirm that.

I would change your pads to ceramic at the same time to reduce dusting.

Great!! Exactly what I wanted to hear.

And agree re tracking.

Pads are going to be cool carbon s/t. Will be upgrading brake lines as well

Ps how you going with mhd? Running 2+ maps?

I have to replace my vacuum lines first before I can flash. Hopefully that fixes my problem. Only using mhd to log right now and very happy with it

MHD 2+ is running well no issues, easy and solid, I highly recommend it.

I changed my brake line with ER Stainless Steel when i did my rotors and pads.

PROJECT - INTERIOR TRIM COLOUR CHANGE

I decided to have a go at changing the colour of my stock interior trim pieces.

They were just collecting dust after I purchased the carbon fibre trim.

Process was simple

Sand with 1200 grit until no smooth surface was left.

Spray Primer - 2 coats

Spray Colour - 4 to 6 coats

Spray Clear - 5 to 7 coats

The colour and clear were very thin, thats why there are so many coats of each. I also wanted a smooth surface like glass rather than a textured surface, so the more coats I added, the glassier it became.

Very happy with the end results, I did this during our NSW heat waves so there was no cold or moisture to effect the finish.

Months later the surface is rock hard.

Only time will tell how it holds up.

I like the colour, Black and Orange are my two favourites, I can certainly understand how this would not be for everyone!!

God damn you will need sunnies on to drive your car now!!

I think if you toned it down a tad and had the trim pieces mainly black with orange strips would look a tad easier on the eye, but hey everyone has their own idea's and tastes

I never knew empty beer bottles could come in handy haha

It's much brighter in the photos , second last is probably accurate to real life.

Love it EB, Orange FTW

Goes with the orange highlights on the outside of the car

I've been looking at my trim where the vinyl? has come away in some places, I'm thinking gloss black would be the go for mine, might give it a crack since you've had some success...

Did you use aerosol or a compressor and paint gun?

Thanks Hoper,

I used aerosol cans.

These specific ones I got from bunnings

https://www.bunnings.com.au/dulux-duramax-325g-plastic-primer-spray-paint_p1400720

https://www.bunnings.com.au/dulux-duramax-340g-gloss-black-spray-paint_p1400687

https://www.bunnings.com.au/dulux-duramax-325g-gloss-clear-spray-paint_p1400718

Sanding and prep makes the job, rough up the trim and it will work well.

I would do one of the rear seat / door pieces to start with, they are short and long, easy to spray and pracice on. Also easy to remove and you can have them out of the car for days without it looking weird.

I didn't do the brakes myself, but they are pretty shiny so I would say yes. You should go glossy regardless, just make sure it's high temp paint

Curious about how this sounds as well. I have the HKS system and decided to get some flanged straight pipes to make it sound more aggressive. It only lasted a day before I put the mufflers back on The drone was waaaaaay too much for me, although when it screams at 3.5k its amazing.
