Question for ppl in Germany "Standheizung"

Hi folks,

My friend brought me a 3er Coupe brochure from Germany and one of the features they have is called "Standheizung" and it has a picture of a cell phone. Does that come standard? Do you use your cell and dial some numbers and the car starts warming up?

Hi,

Yes... normally you set an alarm-clock like fnction on when you want the car to be warm and ready for you. Or you can pre-set a temp for the car to stay at inside.

Standheizung is litterally: standing or parking heat. Cars with this feature(mostly trucks or cars that have to be parked outdoors) have a sepperate jet-like sounding heater to warm up the inside of the cabin. Alot of people like it bc when its cold outside your car will met away any snow thats falling or ice buildup.

Alot of car shops and dealer can install this option after the purchase of a car. Most of the time a package starts at 1,100 euros and up!
