I dont know if this is the right place to ask the question but before I take out the stock unit, I wanted to know if I absolutely need a decoder box and if there are alternatives/workarounds.

My eonon included the canbus decoder. The only optional accessory that may be a requirement is the Logic 7 adaptor if your car is equipped with it.

Is that what you're referring to?
