Any Ideas how to reduce Engine bay temp?
I was just thinking how to reduce the temp of the engine bay as much as possible, its really affecting the air intake box pretty bad. I feel it a lot when i try to swap the air filters just after coming back home from an hour drive.
Any thoughts?

That cushion under your hood keeps a lot of heat in.

I don't know anything about ceramic coating the exhaust manifolds, but wrapping them will just cause them to prematurely fail. It keeps too much of the heat within the metal and causes extra stress. At least this has been my observation in track vehicles, maybe not so much on a DD.

ceramic coating definitely helps a bit. you'd be better off getting brand new headers coated though than having yours cleaned and coated. |

Zip ties is what I used. On the BMS site, they left a lot of the stuff loose, probably just for the pic. I zip tied all the cables to the 2 strut braces. Basically bundled them and then tied the bundle to the brace. The 2 small sensors on either side of the engine, I zip tied to the closest thing I could find so they're in the same spot.
I have no idea how much heat this is allowing to escape from the engine bay, but it seems like there is some. At lights while idling, all I see are heat waves coming from the back of the hood. One downside is that you really can't not use the AC unless it's really cold out. The system no longer pulls ambient air, it's pulling hot air from under the hood. |

get a hood with fins on the top.. I mean it might not be to your taste, but vipers have always had them for that reason, among others
