The GL is here

Just picked up the GL320 this morning. Very impressed so far, it is one HUGE machine to look at but easy to drive and doesnt feel as big as it is. It was nicely presented in the Merc showroom and looked the business in black with privacy! Already had a few comments from neighbours about drug dealing (very funny ha ha) and it being a 'P Diddy' motor - who the f*** he is I dont know! Anyway, dont care it is THE business. Makes the Disco 3 look a little small! It must be at least 50cm longer. It makes my drive look tiny to, D3 not going back until end of May so, with the Mini as well and the garage conversion about to start its going to be interesting!

Initial comments; COMAND satnav is very fiddly compared with iDrive, keep wanting to touch the screen and its isnt a touchscreen system. Leather feels and looks fantastic, leather extends to the whole of the front dash. Made sure that the dealer delivered it full of diesel at his expense, he commented that it cost them £115 to top up!

Cheers Carlos, list price with options was about a 335d E92 x 1.5. However paid less than than I paid for my 335d. Stevie has the ML this is the GL - basically a 7 seater ML.

Pete, What as tank of a car, I like the railings around it at the dealership looks like a celebrity is coming to pick it up.

From the picture you have 2 4x4's on the drive. Have you parked the Merc on top of the mini

It's 4x4's up North' for you and Steve A. Are you forecasting another wet summer?

Nice one Peter, thats huge.

I notice you say the dealer filled it up with diesel for you yet one of your pictures is taken in a petrol station - don't tell me £115 wouldn't even get it home!

Gibbo, I am a celebrity around these parts Mini is in the garage, I reckon its about to be relegated to 'my' car. The D3 goes back at the end of the lease in 8 weeks or so. And who gives a s**t about Global warming or the wet summer to come!

Garage stop was to provide crisps and fizzy drinks to moaning and whinging son! So far it has averaged 26mpg on the trip home (35miles) and round town.

Wow that is wikid man!

Lovin all the bling, thats gonna need some serious amount of Duraglit.

Nice privacy glass, a serious amount of room for all the bales, just electronically drop the rear windows and dish out the wraps!

Needs slammin though, with a Howitzer on the roof.

Joking aside Pete, lovely wagon and I'm sure you will enjoy contributing towards saving the planet

Enjoy.

You were right Pete - it is bigger than Steve's. Looks pretty mean in black I must say.

Are the running boards standard then?

BB, running boards not standard but were an absolute necessity for me to enable my son to climb aboard!

Looks terrific Pete I like the way it was cordoned off inside the dealers!

Whats this about the 'garage conversion'.. and you reckon the driveway 'looks tiny'... I think you need a new house for your fleet of cars ...has Mrs G not suggested that yet
