Climate Control Display

Ok, I have what may be a silly question - why does the climate control display show the temperature in tenths of a degree when it can only be adjusted one degree at a time? Am I missing something? Can I set my 330xi to cool to 67.4 degrees, instead of 67?

Oh, I'm just being facetious about the setting. I really have no desire to be that picky about anything, let alone the temperature in the car. I suppose I should have put one of those smiley face things to let folks know I wasn't being serious about the 67.4 versus 67 part of my post. This was more one of those things that make you go hmmm than anything else.

It must be because of the celcius setting. That explains it, I guess.

1.0C = 33.8F, 1.5C = 34.7, so yeah, I think they used that to determine what increment F goes up/down by, and I don't even feel the 0.5C diff.

btw, facetious is one of my fav word, awesome word

Mine too, i think they are talking about iDrive cars maybe? or perhaps it is when it is set to C instead of F? I am just as confused?

I seriously doubt if they are talking about Celsius vs Fahrenheit while mentioning 67°+ since 37°C is (human) body temperature.

Idrive has nowt to do with the climate control panel.

If the above posts are correct, maybe different sw versions of the cars have decimal places in the temp settings.

In mine (March 06) I have x.0 deg display. In degC it goes up/down by 0.5 degree. In degF it goes up/down in 1.0 degree.

The 0.5 deg C is a noticable adjustment, especially on a long highway trip when the cabin temp is very stable. Whether 0.5degF would be noticable is debatable.

I have a related question about the climate control display too..I usually have it set to Auto, if you look at the display carefully, there's a space for "AUTO" on the display screen next to the little fan icon. However, I have never seen the "AUTO" light on at all, doesn't matter if I set it to Auto or manual fan setting, the only thing display is the fan icon. Am I the only one? Or are some of you able to get the auto light to come on?
