Carlos
I think some people are a little worried about how dynos work etc. And also, some just don't want their cars dyno'd! Understandable... one or two may change their minds on the day, but we'll see what happens. Spectators will be warmly welcomed regardless, as James & I would like to meet other forum members. So don't be shy!!

Carlos,

I use to run my Leon Cupra R on the rollers all the time and with 260 odd bhp and 270ft ib, it use to go quite well.

I wanted to get an idea of what power increases I was getting with the mods I did to it, did the same with my MK4 GTI which used to give quite a few people a shock as it looked standard but was running about 220bhp.

I am not planning to tune my 330 so I dont really need to run it but hey who knows I may change my mind on the day.

As E92 says I am more wanting to meet people and have a bit of a day out.

Dumb question, but do cars ever go flying off these dyno things? i.e. is there anything that can go wrong?

No, cars don't go flying! They're tied down very securely, and there's not a lot that can go wrong to be honest! Makes a lot of noise though... and diesel's get a bit smelly!!!

Update:

Now they want me to go pick up the car tomorrow morning instead of today. Apparently they want to spend some time with me, take the car out for a drive, and listen to why I am frustrated with the whole thing. Thought the last bit would be obvious??

in theory even if the car was not strapped down. As soon is it did lift out the rollers it would stall.

With a mere 370-380bhp, it aint goin even look dramatic on the rollers.. (370-380 will prob be the highest E9x)

ive seen a few 1000+BHP cars bouncing about a bit and causing ''Ye old hoop'' to pucker up a bit

oh yeah this aint a dyno day, its a rolling road day. A dyno is different with engine plumbed in, and not in the car..

I have seen a couple of cars move a little but these were mental supras and skylines and the rolling road was not the best either

99% of the fun is watching your car on the rollers esp when the BHP is put up on a big screen

Ahhhh OK, but to be fair,if your running one of those you need a bit of extra ooomph because of the added weight!

Guess I'll have to spend EVEN more now, luckily there is one more salary cheque before the 8th.

I hate you lot!I'm skint now
