anyone bought ebay headlights?
so i have a 325 with halogen and really want the halos. I'm not soooo concerned with HID, although i wouldn't complain if i got them, but my main question is if anyone has tried any of the headlights on there? and if so what results did y'all get? is it worth spending the money/time to deal with it all? Just havin a hard time gettin the wife to let me drop $600 on the ones off of E92-lighting

I would stick to the ones made by BavX, JleviSW, e92-lighting, or any of the other vendors on here.
Most of those ebay lights come straight out of china and if they dont work properly, have fun trying to return it. My friend purchased a CF roof spoiler, fitment was horrible and the refund process never happened. Also, show your wife the cost of OEM vs the 600 ones |

Don't do it. Ebay is good for a lot of things but headlights for your BMW is not one of them. I bought lights for my old e39 a few years back and not only was the fit bad but they leaked water in the rain or car wash. It was an epic fail. Like the guy above said, a lot of that cheap crap comes from China. You do get what you pay for.

yip definitely a big no no!
they say its plugNplay but that is not the case. i bout a projector headlight for my jetta a couple of years ago and i had to spend a few hundreds to get it's wiring done. The lense cover was a horrible plastic that started to get cracklings after 3 months. Projector was quite hot that it started to melt the plastic lense cover. your BMW deserves better than ebay parts. Please don't degrade your ride. PLEEEEEASE!!!!!!?! |

I have "ebay" headlights. I put quotes around them because I focused my search on Depo brand housings. I've had them since Nov of last year and I have 0 problems with them. No leaks, interior condensation, etc. They've been through rain, heat, cold, car washes, etc. There are some misconceptions in the responses in this thread.
1. Not all aftermarket headlamp housings are bad. I recommend anything made by Depo as it is a quality headlamp housing. Anything else with excessive LEDs, eyebrows, etc on eBay look really cheesy, IMO. Not sure who makes those either, so the quality may be questionable. 2. Once you get projector based headlamp housings, you really should consider an HID kit. 3. If I were to buy again, I'd get the Depo headlamp housings that have the UHP LED AE rings, like the ones seen here. They have clear corners too, and most people want clear corners, I want to maintain the OEM look as much as possible. 4. There are vendors on this board that sell the Depo based housings, but only Bavarian X has the UHP LED AE rings.
