NOX Sensor faults

Hi All,

Would any of you mind looking at these fault codes?
I think it means the Nox sensor has had it.

I am right?

Cheers

Nox sensors do tend to fail. Errors do indicate that the your 1st nox failed.

Another thing I have noticed is a really bad hunting idle at cold, as soon as I have driven a few mile and she is all warmed up, she runs like a dream.

Is this a symptom of the nox sensor? I don't get any issues whatsoever, I will try and get a video later

Check out bimmerprofs dot com. I have had nox emulator for a couple of years and the engine has never been better.

Hi again.
Just had these scanned at the garage and they reckon all it needs is a cat regen. This doesnt sound right does it?

It could be. According to bimmerprofs (and BMW) desulphation happens when you drive 110km/h for 25 minutes with more than 50% fuel (!). So if you never drive on autobahn, it will get glogged: https://bimmerprofs.com/30ea-nitric-...r-sulphurized/

Since the NOX converter anyway will go bad with mileage, I believe the cheapest solution is an emulator. Easy replacement.

I genuinely can't believe this but I forced a regen with ISTA and the codes have gone and not returned!!

I will look at the emulator in time but I only have 80k at the moment

Hi - just wondering if the clearing of the codes worked permanently or if you had to eventually swap out your nox sensor?

morning,

very sorry this notification never came through.

it came back almost immediately but has no effect on the running of the car and does not bring up anything on the dash.
the car hunts on cold but only after an initial movement which I put down to the vanos as I cleaned them a few months back and the hunting stopped, so they need replacing I think
