09 335i Tune Prerequisites

Just acquired a CLEAN 09 335i (dream car) and have been doing endless amounts of research..

Would like to some minor modding but not get too carried away.

I want to go ahead with the JB4 but want to know if there's anything I should prior to throwing the JB4 in to avoid any issues as this is my daily driver.

Was looking into walnut blasting before?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Read the misfire thread in the sticky. Or find 1 of 4508693.

N54tech has a lot more info on JB4 specific information, since it's run by the guys at BMS themselves. Read up, you'll learn a ton by scanning through some threads.

Have read the misfire thread and plan on replacing.

Other than plugs and possibly coils anything recommended?

Datalogging. Seriously, it can help identify a LOT of potential issues that may arise after getting more serious with modifications down the road.

Install JB4, record some logs (3rd gear WOT into 4th for a bit), post to N54Tech support section and have them review everything and that'll tell you where you're at.

Change spark plugs if they have not been changed recently.(i.e. not changed in the last 10K)

Put it on and see. You can always run map 0 with no enhancement if needed.
