Can you replace the aux port with a USB port?

Just curious if there is a way to do that. I have an iPhone and drive a lot, so it would be nice to have one cable that both charges and works with the radio. I have an 06 330i with the premium package

I've been using one of these in the 12v and aux ports in the center console... sort of a next-best solution:

Subscribed for integrated usb conversion, tho...

Nice, I found one on ebay, so hopefully I can get it for a lot cheaper than that. I have both a car charger and aux cable and both were like $3 on ebay.

Does this work with iPhone 3GS? It doesn't list any iPhones on the Belkin website for this product...

I can only confirm that the Belkin guy works with 2g iPhone and an older ipod. IIRC does not charge my wife's 3g iPhone, so I'd conclude it's not gonna work with 3GS either. Drag. Looks like the Griffin Autopilot has the same issue.

dude that looks sick, ive noticed with just my AUX, i get some static, sometimes it plays background music a lot louder than the words.... just one question you know if this works with the new ipod nanos?

Music louder than words? Do you have Logic 7? Music or Cinema settings have an effect on which frequencies are amplified... there are some posts here on suggested EQ settings as well.
