iPod retrofit 07 E92 non-iDrive

I just bought an 07 E92 non-iDrive and wanted to find out about the OEM retrofit iPod adapter. The car has the standard Logic 7 sound system with 3.5mm aux input.

If I purchase the OEM retrofit kit, will the iPod show up as an additional input when selecting the audio source on the stereo? Also, will track information display on the stereo and the iPod be controllable via the steering wheel?

Thanks,
Sean

I'm interested as I'm in the same situation (only with a 2008). I've done a ton of searches but I'm confused based on what I've seen.

I retrofitted on my 08 but sold the car. I can't remember if the control showed up as aux or cd aux. It essentially replaces the connection for a the cd changer. You can control songs up and down from the steering wheel, but if you want to switch menus or another playlist you have to do it through the radio control, it's the easiest way.

As Bladerunner stated the Iphod retrofit will show up in your menu choice. You will see it as "CDC" basically replacing the cd changer.

You can either use the EOM Ipod retrofit from BMW or the Mobridge (which is what I have and it works great). You car will lose the cd changer capacity. Once installed the car also needs to be coded to recognize it if you don't originally have the cd changer installed.
Let me know if you need for info.

Wow, never heard of that option before.

Unfortunately, those go for just about the same price as the OEM. Wish there was a cheaper alternate.
