Suspension noise
Lately my car has developed a weird suspension noise (seems to be coming from front) whenever I go over speedbumps. I have stock suspension.
What could it be? First I thought it was the cold weather thats causing it but it has been consistent whenever I go over speedbumps. I dont hear it when I am driving. Car has 18,000 Kms. |

could be multiple reasons - since you are still under warranty, I would suggest bringing it in to the dealer
what kind of sound is it? metal on metal? squeak?

That's what I think I've been hearing on my car as well. Only when I go over speedbumps as well, and also only when it's been cold out.

Very cold day today and heard the sound again today just driving over a uneven road surface. I will have to take the car in the wintertime as Im sure they will not hear it in the summer

Just got back from TC BMW and they checked and heard the clunk on the suspension. Front swaybar bushing replaced.
I find this weird to tbe happening to a 1 year old car. Will see how it holds up. Havent tried it on the evil speedbump yet..... |

Same issue, I am at around 18K as well..
BMW Durham took a look at it when I did my HPFP recall, they didn't do anything to it... Same result for my left exhaust that was making the clinking sound....they say thats the way its suppose to be.....didn't do anything Should I find another dealership? |

They must use really crappy bushings or don't know how to install them. My car's been in for the suspension noise 4-5 times and they've replaced the bushings at least 3 of the times it's been in the shop.
The last time they had to get BMW HQ involved and they found that there was anti-seize used! Regardless though the noise always returns a few days later. I'm out of warranty now so I'm sure BMW would be more willing to replace other parts but of course now I gotta pay.
