Exactly ... I tangled with a poorly trimmed bush and now have scratch marks right down my flanks.

Just shows how important it is to closely trim the topiary.

I am seriously pleased to see that I can completely debase any thread.

NFS - I sympathise with your scratching problem - perhaps next time you will check the Adams Apple a bit more closely .......

Do they use ladyboys to trim hedges in Cornwall?

I prefer to call my Southern Reigons 'The Tropics' but I suppose that with a protracted period of disuse Cornwall will do.

So you use ladyboys to 'trim the topiary' in your 'southern region' and you select them according to the size of their Adams Apple?

What's your favourite bush? Mine's the leylandii. When it grows it provides a type of fence around the perimter of your garden...

I prefer the cotoneaster ... which is strangely enough not pronounced 'cotton-easter'.

Instead, for reasons I do not understand it is pronounced 'cott-o-ne-aster'.

It's a vicious little b*gger as well ... nearly as nasty as a pyrocanthea or even the savage Berberis.

Obviously these are shrubs with a 'bushy habit'

There is some debiety about the true status of the leylandii, which is often considered to be a hedging shrub, but should more correctly be described as a bloody great tree.

I find that if you let them grow long and plait them they can look quite fetching.

There are clearly some very strange goings on in the boonies that must pass us Townies by.

I must leave NFS and his followers to his plaits and wicker man worship ....

I assume you mean Leilani Dowding, Carslosh?

Even if you don't, I'm sure she has a great Bonsai & looks after her bush very well.

I doubt she uses a LadyboyShave, however!
