I had a question regarding a smell of fuel that is noticeable after you turn off the car, is it normal? Also, are the turbos supposed to sound different at all?

Thanks

COBB: Any chance of a fuel economy map? I remember having one for my GD STI, and it was great on long highway trips.

Can anyone point me to release notes for 2007 beta versions. I looked on their website and could only find official release notes, not beta? Would be interesting to know the details of each beta releases.

I know its recommended to flash back to stock tune before installing cobb. But if I keep dinan installed how will install process go? Does map 0 - stock- still retain dinan tune?

I've read that during install backup of existing flash will fail. So if I ever want to do an uninstall in the future I'll have to flash back a generic stock flash (provided by cobb?) which may be flagged by the dealer. Other than that are there an other issues trying to install over my dinan tune?

I installed mine last night my oil temp goes up to 260? is that normal?
Also i read the codes in the morning code is p2ee6 as cobb says it is coolant sensor
but las night before install i check codes with my own code reader and there were
no codes. I started the car inn the morning i had loud noise i got out and seen my
fan is running on cold start. Is that something to do with the tune, I'm going to go back to stock and see any of this occurs. Has anyone faced this?

The fan running on cold start is a common issue, usually its not tune related.

Universal code readers cant read all the codes BMW has. Some codes show up in shadow codes and the like which only a BT tool would be able to see.

Sometimes that fan running on cold start issue is just a fluke. Ive seen many times tuned and not tuned.

Reset everything and see what happens.

260 oil temp is not normal.

Typically the rad fan running on initial start up indicates a bad Ecu or files. This is how it was with all my previous cars. Not sure about this one but it is def not normal. I would flash back to stock and check if the fan turns off.

If you have an oil cooler its not normal. People who exceed 250+ oil temps with oil coolers are usually hot lapping on road courses.

If you dont have an oil cooler, a)you should get one if tuned and B) that is why your seeing those high temps.

Reset everything and see what happens. Go from there.
Maybe a thermostat is locked up or a sensor is on the fritz.
