iDrive newbie questions

Hello. I am soon to get a 2010 328i coupe with iDrive. Having not used iDrive before but having read a lot about it, plus watch the various online videos, I have a view questions:

1) Is the 2010 iDrive capable of supporting ConnectedDrive, BMW Apps, and other technologies I've seen regarding the 2012 F30?
2) I have an iPhone 4s - what can I do with this phone the 2010 version of the iDrive system?
3) What's the diff between the 2010 and the currently shipping (2013) iDrive?
4) Will the 2012 iDrive (CIC, I assume) support BT audio streaming?
5) Any other hints or suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Yes, 2010 iDrive can definitely support Connected Drive, BT streaming and other features. Depending on your current configuration, you may need to get additional hardware (Combox Media) and/or wiring. If you email me your VIN (vehicle identification number), I can check your current options, and let you know if your vehicle needs any other hardware in order to support Connected Drive.

In the attached link there is some info on NBT, the newer version of navigation system available on SOME F-series.

Thanks,

Kate.
