I get the same 2 choices - used Feature Coding.

Let's hope someone who knows more than me chimes in.

The names are somewhat irrelevant. Feature coding is used for your day-to-day changing various features.

Factory Reset (aka Expert Mode) is for default coding a module based on the VO.

INPA file updated and can be downloaded using the same link. When you download it, you really only need to replace the C:\EC-APPS\INPA\CFGDAT\E90.ENG file with the updated one so you don't have to do a complete install. There are a few N57 options to choose from, and not knowing which DME you have, I don't know which one you need. Try them all, and shoot me a PM if you're still having issues.

The E70.ENG file was also updated if you want to grab that one too.

So a person would use "Factory Reset" to do the coding for a CiC RetroFit?

Yes, except you don't have to close NCS each time you complete a step. You can switch between different profiles without closing.

You need to download your specific DATEN file from the included link, then unzip it. From there, you'll be able to browse to that folder and import it.

Did you use the daten link txt and download the E89 rar file from Mega? Unzip that straight to your C:/ drive. Now you should have a E89 folder in your C drive which is where you'll navigate to in step 17 with button 1.

Just leave it downloading overnight. After the initial 5GB they give you they make you wait a few hrs to continue. When the time is up the download continues automatically.

Or you can buy a month worth of high speed uninterrupted
downloads for around 5 or 6 bucks. Doesn't do you a lot of
good unless you have high download speeds though.
(If we are talking Mega)

I have installed INPA following the instructions, it opens up and runs. I can select my engine N47 from the menu although it pops up with a "error compiling script" message.

What am I missing?

Hello everyone, so long story short (Atleast I hope so), I've downloaded all kinds on bmw tool package from Wildcats to mikey's to a one click & etc. I even clean wiped my PC to start fresh & errors still happen, now as of right now I installed Wildcats way & inpa works etc, however my ncsExper got deleted from desktop, I suppose I can simply launch from bin, no biggie. My biggest issue is WinkFP, I've been trying to update my trans to the alpina flash, but once clicking comfort mode in Wink, there's no Update Zusb nor a choose Zusb. I've imported daten & what not from the Coding tool & no luck. Can anyone help? Thanks all!!

I am having some troubles! Life is never easy in BMW lol. I have been working on Audi VAGCOm which is extremely easy when I had Audi.

Recently , i have bought INPA cable that comes with 4.5GB of application and Datenw. I am running it on Windows 10 after I literally followed all steps from here and there. There is alwasy missing files popping out from errors even after I downloaded the latest daten of E89 files (for My E93) with a 4.7GB.

I think I am lost and I have to repat all the steps or looking for other files again,
What do you suggest??

The only requirement for this install is Windows XP through Windows 10, 32 or 64 bit version and a working KDCAN cable. Instead of writing a lengthy detail in this post, I generated the instructions that's included in link below.

If this install has assisted you in achieving a working set up, please click the appreciate link, thanks!

Edit 1: Added F series files for INPA. Added support files for N47.
Edit 2: Added working copy of NCS Dummy.
Edit 3: Updated DATEN link.
Edit 4: Added notes about setting default folders in BMW Coding Tool.
Edit 5: Updated DATEN link to 60.0.

Engine Control Unit Not Found

Hi.

I can connect to INPA, but when I select my Vehicle (F3 for E82) and select my engine N55 pre 02/12 (MEVD176K) I get the following error message.

I have translated from german:

Sough Control Unit MEVD176K Not Found
Found Control Unit MEVD17KW
They either have an outdated ..\Ediabas\ECU\T_GRTB.PRG Datei, and/or
The control unit provides a wrong variant- and/or diagnostic index.
The Programme is canceled.

I have checked the Ediabas\ECU folder and both the T_GRTB.pgr and MEVD176K.prg files are located in the folder.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have an odd question, do '06 E90 require anything special? I got set up, then tried to change/register my battery along with turning off speed correction and turning on digital speed. Now my car automatically locks the doors when I get over 5mph and I don't have the digital speedometer. Search didn't pull up anything and I didn't read all 33 pages, so please forgive me if this has already been covered.

Most of the download links here should be good for an 06 gas car
in the US if your in Europe or here with a Diesel or some gas
Engine variant that we don't have in the US you may have to seek out
Daten files that have the programs for the Inpa ediabas folders
that allow them to run.
Daten files must be integrated into the edabas folder the easiest way
is with the Coding tool provided in most download packages.
If you are having trouble make sure you can do the basic functional
job tests that read the Ecu's in the car.(In Inpa)

If you tried something and it didn't work you need to detail what you
did and what you used and where it came from.
