The error is annoying whever I start the car because of the ding and display on dash..
I'll probably have the dealer disable the BMW assist feature...

Follow my instructions on relocating the stock headunit to the trunk.

I have a pair of optical cables that you can use to connect the MOST cables in the dash to the MOST cables on the stock headunit (in the trunk). That will make the BMW assist error go away. $60 plus shipping for the cables if you want them.

Yeah.. For sure it will go away..
I noticed that on your post that you need the two wires to make the chimes work.. How come mine work? I don't get it.. I didn't do this mod yet.. My only issue is the BMW assist which is freakin dependent w/ the stock stereo..

I like your bezel. Who makes yours? I prefer the unit above the controls rather than below.

Hi All, I'm getting a 2007 BMW 328i convertible (E93), and really would like to do this as well without breaking everything.

Can someone provide any more details on the metra kit? Know anyone in Florida who can do this install for me? I'd really like to have the climat controls moved down and fit the double din above. Any help much appreciated.

Would love to still have steering wheel controls and the rest of the stuff work.

Thanks.
