That's a bummer about the static. Have you tried troubleshooting to see if the inputs or the ground are causing the static/hiss?

Yes,
I cut off the two metal flanges of the stock amp mount (to make a flat surface) and used double sided tape to stick it flat on there. Also, I sanded down the mounting bolts/flanges and tied my ground to the closest corner (my ground is only 5 inches long) so it's very well grounded.

@scooby, I don't have static anymore, I just had the gain up too high. High Pass gains need to be set all the way down. You can add gain to the stock subs (just a little bit.)

Have opionions changed on the XD600/Tech Update

Recently purchased a 2004 545i and have some questions regarding amps.

Haven't done this in awhile, had fantastic success on a 325e with B&W's 20 years ago, but miserable failure on my sisters Saab just recently.

Used a Pioneer PRS_D4200F and Polk speakers. For whatever reasons, enclosures, speakers, Amp, HU, it was very poor.

This AB versus D debate makes me wonder, because the BMW with a very good 4/75 amp was the best I've ever heard to this day. hehe, just found a photo:
B&W LM60

B&W LT30

Another question. Serendipity struck when I cut out the rear deck to accept the LM60's. Somehow those little speakers and the trunk made what I thought was the perfect infinite baffle. The sound was like being onstage next to a drum set, as tight as it could get.

Why can't this be done on my 545i?
Can you put in a larger driver?

While I am asking so many questions:
If I'm used the 4" drivers and prefer not to us Bavarian Sound Works, what
do you recommend in the $150-$250 Range ... DLS?

Noticed that most speakers are 4 bolt and BMW is 3.

Thanks

I was kind of holding back because of the AB vs D

I was kind of holding back because of the AB vs D
debate. I held back on Vinyl vs CD to .

When I finally heard the XD 600/6 I knew it would be plenty adequate.
I have had it in my car about 2 months now with Morel Dotechs in the doors
and Jehnerts in the floors. The sound is pretty awesome. I know that a better more expensive AB or D would be even better but I know now that class D can do the job.

I heard the Diamond Audio Sws-8 setup in a coupe with a XD 600/6 powering it ,and it sounded damm good.

You have to buy adapters for the speakers that will fit unless you buy a kit
from VP Electricity .
If you are not on a budget you can get Jehnert door panels look at Jehnert.com
but they pretty pricy for most people.
