Just saying hello
Hi guys
I've recently signed on the dotted for a new 325d SE Touring having tried the 320d and considered the ED saloon and the latest sports tourer deals that are on the go at the moment. I could hardly split the 320d and 325d on the road the way they performed but the 325d had a great burble and felt less thrashy and more refined........I'm coming from a 123d M Sport coupe which I've put about 30k on in 18 months and, whilst I've really enjoyed it, I need more space and a bit more comfort. Fuel economy on the 325 is going to be at least what I'm getting off the 123 at the moment and when we crunched the numbers at the dealers, I could barely split the cost of owning the 325 over the 320. OK, I've no doubt I'd get more mpg off the 320 but hey ho............pass me the pipe and slippers. Just got to wait till the end of March now Cheers Bob |

Welcome Bob!
Sadly, I've never had to endure the wait for a new new car so I don't know what that's like. However, if it's anything like the build up I went through to getting my AUC I can imagine how you feel! |

When I put my order in at the dealers they already had one in the pipeline coming into stock, so they switched it to my spec and advanced the delivery. Still two and a half months though!
I guess if it's not already in a dealer queue somewhere, you might be up to 4 months? Bob |

325 is a good choice. The 320 without a remap is a little too slow and if you enjoy a driving you'll probably end up driving it harder than you would the 325 which negates the fuel benefit anyway.
Good choice, look forward to the pics once she's in your possession

Cool car and nice spec!
17s are preferred by some (not many but me included) on here - so fear not! 284s are a nice looking 17 anyway. Have you got kids? One option I couldn't be without is the built in roller blinds for the rear windows. About 12423234 nicer than those stick on ones and you can still open the windows with them down too. Panoramic sunroof is a must IMO too but not to everyone's taste. Good choice though and DO put up pics! |

I know what you mean about the wheel choice. I guess my thinking was prior experience of 18" RFT 's on my 1 series and how they really crashed and bumped over every pothole. Also the cost to replace 18's as well.
I'm currently on winter 17" RFT's on my 1'er and they seem to have compensated for a lot of the harsh ride. I'm doing high miles too so there's always the cost of replacing a set of 18's at least once a year! I'll see how it goes and will probably go to non-RFT's after the first set wear out.............. I was also hoping my current winter alloy's would simply swap across. Chances are they won't apparently but there's a deal to be done there still. Bob |

Bob - 17s on non RFTs are brilliant. Superb ride, still grip and handle well. The single downside (to some) is that they don't look as "cool."
Oh and 17s are a fair bit lighter too so much less unsprung weight ;-) As I said, that style is a nice 17 anyway and for some reason, looks like an 18. |
