Hello!
So about a year ago i had my turbo replaced for a remanufactured one and it pretty much “blew” after 6 months. It was repaired but i was curious wheter it should boost at idle? I had my remap removed at the time to diagnose what it could be. Without the remap, the rubber hose between IC and intake manifold was under pressure (at idle). But after i had my remap put back i can’t tell if it is boosting. The turbo whistle itself can’t be heard from the exhaust, only when the compressor slows down (i have a straight pipe) But while driving it boosts no issues. Is the turbo supposed to act different while not in motion or is it just a thing that might of been adjusted with a tune? |

Shouldn’t it make some boost at idle? Just enough to pressurize the hoses. I’ve had a mechanic look at it, but he has an older version of the M57 with a vaccum controlled turbo. His hose, mentioned above, even expands while revving. No difference in mine

Not going to make much boost (if any at all) while revving in neutral. You need load on the engine to make power.

Even 1-2psi will pressurize the system. But it's not like 1-2psi is going to do anything.

Boost at idle, interesting concept!!!! Boost under load I understand, you may register boost wild idling, but you need a very delicate measurement device....

Maybe i explained the idea in wrong words, since english is not my first language. But what i can’t wrap my head around is why is the intake hose is stiff and under pressure without a remap (at idle). After the remap you can’t feel any resistance while squeezing it
