Engines-Express ... anyone used these guys?

Hey guys,

Further to my thread earlier of engine going pop, my friend been ringing about and these guys have given her the best quote.

http://www.engines-express.com/our-company/

£995 + £50 recovery to get her car from brentwood to greenwich and a recon engine.

Price is a bit (£100) less then others and given her financial situation it makes a huge diff.

Does anyone know of these guys at all? I know sod all about engine replacement and as her 'car friend' as she put it, i wanna see her right!

She having a bit of a bad run of it - she is the one who had a stalker a while back (posted on here last yr re that!) .... and to top it all off, he reappeared 2 nights ago!! Hence trying to do whatever i can to make sure she dont get shafted.

Cheers.

Garage List
That sounds pretty reasonable for an engine swap if it is all in and there are no 'extras' like oil, filters, pipes, bolts etc to go on top.

There are a few places in Brentwood you could try ringing like Whitehouse Garage on the Ongar road. I know they are cheap and good, but weather they are cheaper than that I couldn't tell you.

UPDATE!!

Thanks to all who posted on this thread - spoke with my friend and she decided to scrap the car.

So she called the guy today to say that she was going to scrap it - and he turned nasty!!

In short ... he threatened to invoice her for cancelling the job - bear in mind they havent done anything bar given a price and booked it in, let alone see the car!

He then got a bit threatening from what she said, and called her a bitch after she said that if he sent her an invoice she would call trading standards.

So in short... avoid www.engines-express.com judging by her experience.

So in short folks... a very very happy lady would like to say thank you for giving her the right advice and saving her a fortune which she was having to borrow to have her car fixed.

Forums like this - worth their weight in gold .... (ok ... so no weight as its all cloud based etc- but u get the sentiment!)
