n55 DP fix

Hey, guys ,

I just came from my 2010 n54 motor and was told that the n55 does not have a dp fix.

I'm just a little puzzled that this motor has been out since 2011 and still nothing has come out to fix this issue.

Is the only fix to swap out back to stock around the time of inspection ?

Thanks

Yes and no, the Cobb tune will suppress the associated code and leave the emissions monitor in the "not ready" state. Depending on local laws this is usually enough to pass as long as there isn't a sniff test and a simple plug in scan. They usually allow a single "not ready" monitor. And I wouldn't worry much about the visual unless you brought the car to BMW.

I live in NYC so i think once you have a not ready code you will fail. =(

Does the Cobb flash only show a SINGLE not ready?

NJ allows for a single not ready. Any more than 1 and you fail.

I've asked this many times but no one has given me a conclusive answer yet.

I'll know for sure pretty soon, got a DP waiting to go in, just need to find a weekend to install it. From everything I've seen you'll end up with a single not ready, that's how it works on the N54 at least. I know they're different but as far as clearing the cat efficiency code, it's just a single code. Shouldn't "clear" anything else or prevent any other monitor
