Have you checked with BMW you car isn't covered before fitting the new parts?
I would assume that the dealer it went to the other week would have flagged up if it qualified but to answer your question I haven't checked.

On the point of a recall, mine didn't qualify and I can recall someone else with a 2009 saying they didn't either. But I guess knowing you, that's been checked.

best of luck
I assume by that they mean the the decoupling elements, which I will be replacing.

Parts have been delivered.
The bastards didn't send the decouping elements though.

Injector recall, Dann, was for cars built up to 31.10.2008 so older than yours.

It just says buffers on my invoice, but it makes sense it's what you weren't sent. As you say, bastards!!

Yeah didn't think mine would be under it.

The German word did translate to something like buffer. Part number ends in 751

No part number on my invoice, but it has to be the same. Seems only my dealer calls them buffers!

So after Leebmann forgot to send me the Decoupling elements, they refunded me for them with no questions asked (actually really happy with them again)

So I ordered them from Harry Fairbairn BMW as I get 15% discount there from another forum and they arrived today.

That's everything delivered and ready to be fitted tomorrow, then got an oil change on Saturday followed by a nice long trip to get the new injectors run in.

Cool. I used Harry F, though thought it was 20% from the other forum

Enjoy the drive, afterwards, you don't do enough miles in yours

And we're done.

Took about 4.5 hours to change the valve cover, injectors and plugs. Was actually really easy and it seems to be running well now.

The hardest bit was trying to pick up a socket and bolt that I dropped onto the undertray.

I'll have some injectors for sale now as at least 4 of the old ones are still useable.

Oil change and a long run tomorrow should sort it out and I'll be happy again

So today I removed the Clutch Delay Valve and replaced it with a new non restricted one.
Then gave it a wash.

I've been driving a 65 plate C4 Picasso Diesel for the last week so stepping back into this was incredible. The steering is amazing (rediculousy heavy compared to modern shite) and it's so easy to put a smile on your face.

Snowfoamed using AF Avalanche then washed with a incredipad and AF lather.

Didn't bother with anything else as it will be getting clayed this week and machine polished over Christmas

Lol

I spend more time washing it then driving it

Can't wait to start machine polishing it next week. Bad paint is one of my pet hates.

Small update

MOT passed for another year.
Managed to do 2400 miles this year in it.

Next things to do are brakes and calipers, new exhaust tips and MHD Stage 1 98 map flash.
I'll also be giving it a good clean when it gets warmer (inside arches, engine bay and alloy backs etc)

Wheels are still on my list but can't decide what I want.

So...It's been a year since I bought the car.

In that time I've:
Spent £1400 on Maintenance, £560 on Consumables (tyres etc) and £110 on Modifications.

I've done 2.5k miles in the year and averaged 25mpg.

Next things to do are still brakes and calipers, new exhaust tips along with adding X pipe and MHD Stage 1 98 map flash.
I'll also be giving it a good clean when it gets warmer (inside arches, engine bay and alloy backs etc)

So after looking at the Style 189s for sale for the last 3 months I decided to make an offer and ended up buying them. They had winter tyres fitted but I have a very good tyre fitter who switched the winters from my new wheels onto my MV3s and my Eagle F1s onto the new wheels.

The wheels are oem style 189s in ferric grey and now have my Goodyear Eagle F1s fitted

Looking good Dann. I think I prefer them with the blue centre caps having seen them like that now.

Nope, it's just on standard M sport suspension, although it did have the 4 MV3s in the boot at the time, and it's on a slight slope.

Nice upgrade. I too was looking at the rims but to use as winters so probably better you are using them as your main set.
