RSR are pretty solid. Where can you find RRs? For occasional track duty the RSR work well for me.

I run them. Good grip on the track but get greasy just like the RSRs after 10+ hot laps. For the price they're AMAZING, I can get 10-20% off retail with decent sized orders (8+ tires) FYI

Do you have any photos from worn out 595 RS-RR on your car? If yes, please post them here.

Cheers

how do the rsrr compare to the rsr? i have the rsr in 265/245 and paid 402 out the door for the set. there is no tire for 100$ that comes even close to these. they do get greasy after 10-15 laps just like you said, just ran them last monday at a 4 mile pocono track which had 2 nascar straights. i did notice the rsrr are 200 tread wear as opposed to 140 for the rsr.

what does the side of your tire say. federals website lists 200, spencer has 200. possible they forgot to change the label? knock offs? no clue but id trust the manufacturer.

Spencer! Small world! Nice to see here too man.

So regarding the 200/140, the RS-RR is more of a 140. The reason behind the 200 (U.S.) rating is that most tracks here require tires to have 200. (IDK why) So basically as long as the tire SAYS 200 on them, you're good to go on the track. Think bridgestone RE-71. Just like the RS-RR they say 200 but really a sticky 140.

In regards to the RS-R vs RS-RR my response from Federal is that RS-R is tailored for the drifting segment, and RS-RR is designed for the track enthusiasts, auto-x, etc, etc. They have specifically stated for marketing purposes not to connect the two lines together. The RS-R is not the predecessor of the RS-RR, rather they are different designs on their own.

Hope this helps

Regards

I appreciate the insight but still does not explain why we have RS-RR 140tw available on the US market as well.

It's because most sanctioned clubs (like ChumpCar, SCCA Street Tire Classes...etc) dictate a treadwear of 200 to be deemed legal for use.

With that being said, treadwear is very wishy washy. A RS3v2 140 treadwear will wear away slower than a RE-71R at 200 tw

Since you are here,
I got 2x235 40 18 and 2x255 35 18 rsr on my spare rims from you guys about 3 weeks ago
But I just installed it on my car.
At first I thought everything is ok but as soon as I reach 80mph, the car starts to shake.
And the shaking increases as the speed increases from 80.
I did some searching and it may be that the tires are not balanced correctly.
So here I am at America Tires right now getting all 4 tires rebalanced.
Im so far from OC that driving back to Beach City is not even worth it.
Ill let you guys know if rebalancing fixed shaking issue....

My first impression is that the tires are wide and heavy.
But the good thing is that the sidewall is quite stiff almost stiff as runflat.
Im hoping I can make it to buttonwillow this sunday.:mad0260.
