I try to take care of my car cars whether is was my 2003.5 M3 with 132k miles, my 2009 335i w/ 20k, or my Aston Martin Vantage with 14k....
Although I have to admit I do let my 335i get dirty, drive through the rain, sometimes catch myself tailgating trucks (rock chips), and put a hell of a lot of miles on it. ~2500/month. I do however want to have a nice DD so I want to take care of it and keep it looking and running pristine. I try to park in safe areas when possible, and probably won't be going out in the snow.

I'm a car enthusiast and it's made evident through how I interact with her. She'll go weeks without a wash because I'm busy with school and work but when I have time to take her for a spirited run, I'll push her until she's drained with fans running and everything. There's a difference between an enthusiasts' car and a car that's a pampered garage queen.
Excuse the excessive personification

I am maintainig my car as good as possible because I worked my ass for a few years to buy it. This car has to drive me to work, my wife for dinner, and my kid to the doctor for the next few years so of course I look after it. And I want it to look good, because - being a graphic designer - I like good looking things. |

I own a 00 golf gli 1.8t and when I first got her babied the crap out of her! Washes every friday after work, full details every month inside and out, but then one day I walked out and seen someone keyed the entire side from bumper to bumper. Got it quoted at over a grand to fix and from that point on said fuck it. Washes maybe once a month, looked like I lived in it, pretty much just didnt care anymore. Now shes my weekday warrior...I take it places I just dont want to take my bimmer i.e. the grocery store, bars, places I know people around me dont give a shit about other peoples things and places Ill be staying overnight...But the bimmer gets first class attention and always will. I think it has more to do with the fact I paid 4 times more than the golf but at the same time this car is just on a whole other level. I just feel like its an obligation. Hard to explain but Im sure most of you understand.

This past week I have been wandering aimlessly looking for a place so I neglected my E90 with it's usual good cleaning. I feel so bad.
