How can I get scratches out of my Nav screen

Howdy, I tried in the cosmetics forum but couldn't get help there so I'm trying the general board.

The previous owner scratched up the Nav screen somehow. It looks like he wiped it with a brillo pad. The scratches are fine and barely able to feel with my fingernail.

How can I clear these out? Some type of glass/plastic polish or? It drives me nuts

Don't know of the nav screen in particular, but you can usually polish plastic, or most things with an ordinary polish. Be sure to use a fine grit polish, as the coarser ones could leave more scratches.

I was thinking about using Plastix, the headlight polish but I wanted some opinions before I did something dumb and made it worse.

You could try a non-invasive procedure first. I would put a screen film like DayVue or the like and see if it masks the scratches underneath somehow.

Try Polywatch
Ive use it on my speedo screen and it took it away.

Autozone sells "plastic polisher" which should work.
Alternatively you can remove the protective plastic and leave the screen exposed.

I had a similar issue on my '08 X5... I removed the nav. screen, removed the anti-glare coating (which is what's scratched) with plastic polish, and then applied a clear anti-scratch self-adhesive plastic film sold for iPads, etc. (I purchased it at Best Buy). Lots of work, but it now looks brand new & is scratch resistance.
