I have a clicking sound from the engine. The key was out of the ignition and car had been 'off' for about 20 minutes. I opened the car and lifted the bonnet and suddenly the clicking started. For about 10 minutes at odd intervals and didn't stop even if I locked the car. I do have ABS issues with a sensor on order and I also have valvetronic issues with a 2E0F code.

I am also having some strange electrical issues (Dct not changing gear, moving from Park to neutral without the engine even being on, cutting out on startup)

Could all the above be related to a dying battery? Including perhaps the valvetronic? the valvetronic issue only appeared after the battery was disconnected to change out the power steering pump.
