Metallic creak at low speeds
Hi all, first thread as a new member, and I do apologize for creating yet another "what's this noise" thread, but I've searched quite a bit, and either the videos have been removed, or the symptoms sounded different. Here goes:
At low speeds, usually in parking lots and garages, I get this metallic "creak" or "rattle" when passing about 8mph, seemingly regardless of throttle position (but typically at very light throttle since... parking lot speeds). I can replicate it on command, and it always follows the same sort of rhythm, although sometimes I can get it to make the sound twice in a row. It doesn't make any sound when I rev it, or transition onto throttle at higher speeds, and it's definitely a new development. (As in, when I left for the trip I'm currently on, 650mi ago, it wasn't doing it.) Car is a 2006 330i 6MT, Sport Package, 95k miles. For the record, I have the exhaust flap solenoid unplugged, so it stays open, new Giubos, and new DISA actuators. Here's a clip of the sound: Thanks all! |
