I emailed my SA and set up an appointment for an oil change and to have this looked at (I included the picture of the recall notice the OP posted) and her response was "OK, well, you know we have to check it and make sure it falls in with BMW parameters" whatever that means. I took my car in at 98,000 miles while I still had BMW warranty and reported this problem but they never could replicate...I'm at 108,000 now but I have a bit more leverage maybe to tell them I tried to bring it in under my actual warranty and not recall and now it has just gotten much worse. I did get catless DPs put on about 2,000 miles ago as well, I hope they don't give me a hard time. I can always try another dealership I've been to or contact BMWNA as I see no reason why they shouldn't be covered. Quote:

Wow, my 11/2011 production 335is does have injector 13538616079 per realoem.com parts listing. Thanks for the heads up, will be in touch with the dealer about this.

So BMWNA called me and left a message this afternoon on my way home from work. The recall is VIN specific and my VIN isn't on the list. Therefore, no dice

Total crap, this shouldn't be VIN specific as so many people from all different years have had issues. If your injectors are failing, they should be covered. Ridiculous. Anything you can do to push back? I feel like I'll get the same story.

Perhaps it is batch specific for the issue, and they know in the database what batch each car's injectors come from?! It might be specific to batch, or specific to the production facility that fabricated it, or...? |

Guys, wait a few weeks. Takes time for the system info to trickle down to dealers.

Yes I'm sure it's something like that, my point is that it shouldn't be batch specific, if they are failing as so many are, they should be replaced. We will see over the next few weeks. I'm just hoping to get a letter, that's like a $1,000 check in the mail.

Well so far haven't had any symptoms/codes for injectors. What I may do is mention that my injectors are the same as the ones being recalled so I'll see what happens next.

Oh ok. I have multiple misfires codes and surging/fluctuating RPMs on startup, once the car stumbled around for 10 seconds and eventually died, then started right back up...100% seems like excess fuel leaking in while the car sits. They couldn't replicate it 10,000 miles ago but it's gotten much worse and I video the RPM gauge on startup, hopefully that helps. I just hope the catless DPs don't get in my way, no way they would cause misfires though..I do have a tune though and don't really plan to pull it, they've never brought it up with any other warranty work.

Ugh my injector is leaking, I can't wait until I can finally get them replaced. My cylinder 1 plug is so black with unburned fuel and I know it's stupid to buy new injectors when they'll warranty them as soon as the CEL comes on... if they don't warranty them by this fall though I'm replacing them anyways.

The last 7 digits of my VIN are E270707 Should I call my local dealer? I've been having a misfire in cylinder one. Hmmm. |

Don't really like driving around knowing my cylinder one injector is dumping fuel so about to just pay for injectors myself but know they'll fault as soon as I do. In the mean time I'm just keeping the powertrain stock.

I'm hoping my 2007 will be covered - not too optimistic. My injectors were replaced in 10/2009 however I think I am having a leaking injector issue again. Trying to make a post about it now but I am running into issues posting on here. Great community for sure.

If California has forced an actual recall due to emissions that would be a first I'm aware of (i.e. A one state recall).
