N54 intermittent long crank on hot start?

Hey all!

Having an intermittent inside on hot starts only. On a hot start , sometimes the car takes a long time to crank , sometimes it tries to turn over but dies, then will turn over on the next try . Cold starts are 100% perfectly fine , only happens sometimes on hot starts. I'm on index 12s and my logs look perfectly fine fueling wise? I do have a trim variance (trying to find a shop with a smoke machine ) see if it's an air leak at the manifold. I pulled the plugs the other day after 30 mins after shutting it off plugs were fine not wet nor smelled of gas . Very confused on what it could be? Any suggestions would be great ! Thank you !

I think long cranks are generally a symptom of HPFP failing but I'm not sure whether it usually shows anything in a log or not when that's the only symptom. If it's not been recently replaced, that's where I would most likely focus my attention.

Hey ! The injectors and HPFP were replaced about 5 yrs back under warranty I have been on and off e so I'm not sure if it may have broke them or anything
