277A Diagnostic Module for Tank Leakage (DMTL) pump, moisture termination SOLVED
My eyes are bled out... The "Nightmare on Jack-stands" continues...Well, taking a 2011 335i xDrive from pure stock to FBO + PS2 has become immensely darker.
How do I correct this 227A error code? I know, I know... but my a** is kicked. I would appreciate any help. mike Last edited by cranelec; 08-10-2017 at 03:37 PM.. |

Hey Mike, its been two years now and I am not sure if you got help. I am in the same situation as you now. Did your issue get fixed and if yes, how did you fix it?

Wow, that's been a while. As I remember, my skill level was even lower than it is now. (started out as a humorous commentary and realized it did nothing to help you. I apologize for that. Sadly, I don't remember the root cause analysis. However, when I finally got my sh*t together the staff pump was fine |

I'm not sure what codes you're getting but a while back I had some codes relating to the DMTL pump and a short circuit. Replaced the pump which did not solve the issue. I popped my rear driver's side wheel off and took a peek at the wiring going to the pump (it's right there in the wheel well). A few of the wires were frayed so I soldered some new ones in there and that fixed my issue.

I finally changed the DTML pump and it was now gone. The pump is cheap and the diy was very easy.
