What kind of device did you install to get Apple Car Play.
OEM or aftermarket?
What head unit did the car come with?
Anything that is not the BMW OEM system could cause this.
There may be work arounds but it will be impossible to tell without
all the information.

After market head units in general do not support the BMW chimes or gongs.
There are interface adapters that you can get to do this.

I would identify the Head Unit and Sound system the car came with they are not
the same thing.

Stuff like the above and it's not the only one.

A lot of the car functions and warning are integrated and implemented through
the original Radio or I drive . This means when you do and aftermarket radio
a lot of these functions are lost or cause error's .

There are adapters or harnesses to fix this.
Modifing these cars is not like doing one of the pre 2000 cars where audio
was separate.

https://unexpectedcreations.com/ this is the best
BMW aftermarket shop on the East Coast

I
they are in Edison, New Jersey
I would call them and ask what they can do for you but before
you do know exactly what model and make(aftermarket head unit ) is in the car and what the
car originally came with.
To find out what it came with run Mdecoder.com and get a screen print of all the 6 hundred options.
Entertainment and communication options.

if you installed it yourself it looks like you could just get the harness.
Also if you installed it yourself did it come with instructions for this condition
cause it ain't unusual in any car made past 2000

I have a 2008 e92 335i and want to put one of the 8 inch android units in mine. Almost all of them have a separate canbus box that plays chimes through itself. If I get one of these adapter harnesses will the chimes go through the speakers again?
