Lots of fault codes after low battery

Due to Covid 19 my wife’s has not been driving her 2009 E92 very much.
A couple of days ago she went out and the car threw up a lot of errors
The battery was low so I charged it with a CTEK charger and battery is fine. The errors were still there so I took it for 30 minute drive hoping the errors would clear but still there.
Do I need someone to just clear the errors as its likely it’s down to low battery or is there more to it?

Bmw cars do not like low battery's, I would scan for the codes, Clear the codes & see what happens after that. Check the voltage coming from the battery.

If you have a windows laptop grab yourself a cable and INPA. If you want to scan easier I've heard Carly is good.

I personally use INPA, I by no means am good with it, but it's really easy to scan for codes, clear codes etc.

I've got a mac too running with windows bootcamp and INPA runs perfect.

If not, I've heard about a lot of apps that work on Android devices (Deep OBD I think it was), that could be another option.

I have had several MacBook Pro laptops running INPA under Windows in Bootcamp for many years. It works perfectly as it is not such a computing intensive application as you would think.

However, INPA is getting a bit old hat these days and for E9x-series cars onwards you might want to look at ISTA (aka Rheingold) which is the current BMW software. I guess it will be Windows OS exclusively again but if you do not wish to "Bootcamp" your Mac a used Windows laptop can be had for the cost of a worthwhile handheld unit like a Foxwell for example. Anything that can run Windows 7 onwards will do the trick.

Because INPA and ISTA are BMW specific software applications they tend to incorporate all of the functions you will ever need and when they do a fault diagnosis they can also identify potential faulty parts and the maintenance procedure to replace the part. Far beyond the 3rd party apps or hand-held OBDII readers but that is not to say they are perfect they can still be a PITA to install and can give the same sort of red herring trail that the other readers do sometimes.

Having said that I would not be without mine and I cannot believe you have been on this forum for so long (10 years?) without a code reader of some description.

Lol, I've had my 35i since July 2012 & I don't have a code reader of any description either...although I still have my service light reset tool from the good old days of Bmw ownership

Yes I still have one of those Pacman plug-ins and the adaptor cable for INPA just in case I ever feel the need to play about with those under bonnet connectors again!

Happy days
