room for one more?
well here's my two cents guys: i wanted to have my bumper resprayed here..and i can see through your post that me and you are not that different when it comes to details. this is why i've always been an advocate of MAC and Cavallo's. Only places my cars have been touched for substantial modification or paint work. I mean they both look like showroom's, if i want my 50K+ cars at a place i can't eat off the floor of --i need to recheck my neural abilities. For simple bolt on's, any certified mechanic can do the job but for something like a classic m3 i wouldn't cut any corners. i see your OCD about your car and imho not a bad thing, i remember my e46 m3, i saran wrapped my seats and steering wheel before dropping it off at the dealer. not accusing but perfectly acceptle if you don't want your cinnamon interior (gorgeous btw) being stretched by a person of certain dimensions the seat wasnt designed for. in all honesty, im sorry to hear about this OP, i've had this happen to me before..not fun but also why i pay with Amex, one of the perks of paying with Amex is how they fight for you if you are not happy with any of your charges.

I was a huge MAC skeptic for body work as I've used many others to varying degrees of success... However with them, you REALLY get what you pay for. And MAC hasn't paid me a cent for that ringing endorsement. My buddy cries every time he sees my car since he's extremely meticulous over the care of his exterior and he couldn't tell the difference one bit.

Not taking any sides
Derek, Jon, and Joe at MAC are great guys. Definitely dedicated to what they do best, which is making your car perfect. I had my hood painted at Impressive and my trunk painted at MAC so if you guys want to compare, go ahead and look at my car in person. John from impressive told me up front even before he painted my hood that it wont paint match 100% since its CF. I told him to go ahead and paint it. I have the same problem with my trunk painted by MAC. Its very close but you can still see the carbon weave and its slightly darker than my factory Montego paint. And to be honest both my hood and trunk right now are holding up fine. Again I'm not taking any sides im just putting out info so you guys can decide.

Its not overpriced but it is expensive.
Its not even bring groupies. Mac's Service and professionalism is top notch. I havent seen a body shop that is that well organized friendly. Its one of the best body shops out there. I've never seen anyone complain about MAC(except the price) work is flawless. |

IMHO, if it's an insurance claim go MAC without a question... if it's out of pocket, use discretion, word of mouth and balance price point and quality.

well thats my point. I don't know about you guys but i don't like going through insurance for small damages makes no sense. so if im paying out of pocket I'm not paying above premium prices. No doubt MAC is good but there other good body shops if your paying out of pocket while not spending your life savings. I have no beef with MAC there amazing but members ride their dicks way too hard its annoying.

If Mac is great it shouldn't matter how hard we ride it.. cause we like it. The premium is worth it if the product is guaranteed.. every time. Same reason Apple charges three times more than they should.. they hardly ever have problems and people know it. You're paying extra for a peice of mind.. and thats worth it on a BMW |

Good luck, dude. The mileage on your car has nothing to do with the damage they caused. What's happened to your car is unacceptable and it doesn't sound like the shop has any intentions of owning up or making good on it. I would have figured that much after seeing the repair job on your rim. Yuck
Hope everything works out with future shops |
