VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) missing from windscreen

Hello there,

I'm not sure this is the right thread to be posting this question, but here goes...

I bought a 120d (E9x Platform) from a BMW worker in germany 2 years ago.
The paperwork was all sorted by an import agent and I haven't had any bas surprises since.
But, the thing that is nagging me is that the VIN number does not appear at the bottom right (when looking at the windscreen from outside) like it does on most other cars. The chassis/VIN number appears everywhere else (engine bay and door sticker).
Does anyone have the same?
Any explanations?

Thanks for your help!
